In just a few short years, Calvin Sykes has made his mark in sports journalism. His ambition and creativity are an excellent addition to the world of journalism.
Calvin Sykes is a graduate of Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. He is currently working on his Master’s in Sports Management at Florida A&M University.
Calvin has worked as ESPN’s The Undefeated Rhoden Fellowship for 2020-2021, where he reported and wrote stories about professional and college athletes. So far, he has covered Jackson State’s Deion Sanders, “ESPN’s Why Not Us” Documentary Series, and South Florida High School Recruiting.
Calvin has had bylines in HBCU Gameday, Miami Times, ESPN’s The Undefeated, and CBS 4 Local.
Given his previous work experience, Calvin has managed to work well in diverse environments and can bring creative ideas to the table. All of which leads to him currently serving as the operations manager for WANM 90.5. Calvin produces a half-time sports report and coaches show for the Rattler Sports Properties in his free time.
Calvin’s best attributes are his ability and willingness to communicate with diverse people and think critically to solve problems with realistic solutions. His passion for educating and helping others will allow him to be the best content creator.
